Easy Pasta Carbonara
Recipe type: pasta

Total time:
Serves: 2
  • ½ pound spaghetti or angel hair pasta
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Start by boiling water for pasta. Salt the water.
  2. While water starts to boil, cut bacon into small pieces and cook through. (This can be done in a pan on the stove or in the microwave).
  3. Once water is boiling, add pasta to the water and make sure to mix so the pasta separates and does not end up stuck together.
  4. Prepare the sauce by cracking the egg into a bowl. Add the heavy cream and lightly beat together with a fork.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, drain and return to the pot. Add the cream/egg mixture and stir so the pasta is coated in the sauce. Add the oregano, and then salt and pepper to taste and combine.
  6. Divide the pasta into two bowls and top with the cooked bacon (and more grated parmesan if desired!)
