- 6 ounce salmon fillet
- 1 blood orange
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- salt
- pepper
In a small bowl, combine the juice from the blood orange, soy sauce, honey, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. Remove the skin if needed. Season with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a small skillet over medium heat. When oil is hot, add salmon to the skillet and cook 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook and additional 2-3 minutes. (Note: may need to cook longer depending on thickness and desired level of doneness of salmon).
Reduce heat to medium-low. Add the blood orange sauce to the pan and cook an additional 1-2 minutes.
Plate the salmon with the sauce served over the top.
- Salmon cook time will depend on your thickness of salmon and your stove. Adjust cooking times as needed.
- If you want, save a couple of slices of blood orange for topping the salmon before juicing the rest!
