Ingredients

  • 15 oz canned chickpeas
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 lemon
  • black pepper

Instructions

  • Drain and rinse your chickpeas. Add to a medium-large bowl.
  • Add your olive oil, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the bowl. Toss to combine.
  • Add chickpeas to your air fryer basket. Air fry for 12-15 minutes as 390 degrees F, shaking every few minutes.
  • While chickpeas are cooking, zest the lemon.
  • Once chickpeas are crispy, remove from air fryer. Plate, then season with any additional salt and pepper and top with fresh lemon zest.

Notes

  • All air fryers cook differently. Make sure to check frequently for doneness! You want the chickpeas crunchy and to have a good bite, but not burnt.
  • The chickpeas do get softer when added to a salad and tossed with dressing, so if eating on a salad, add on top rather than tossing together with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Make sure to only zest the yellow part of the lemon.
