Pat the rainbow trout dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over the trout and rub into the surface. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.
Brush or spray air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the trout in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Slice lemon into slices and lay over the top of the trout.
Air fry at 400 degrees F for 6 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.
Plate and enjoy!
Notes
If your trout is frozen, thaw according to the package directions before preparing and cooking.
Cooking time will depend on your thickness of trout fillet. This was a thin fillet from Trader Joe's. Thicker fillets may take an additional 2-3 minutes.
I typically leave the skin on when cooking, and then just remove the skin as I'm enjoying the trout.
