Air fryer garlic butter shrimp are decadent with a garlic butter sauce that is brightened with fresh lemon juice. The shrimp are like an air fryer shrimp scampi that are easy to make and cook in less than 10 minutes.
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl or in a skillet (one that will be large enough for your shrimp, too!)
To the bowl of melted butter, add minced garlic, juice from half a lemon, and salt. Stir to combine.
Add the shrimp and stir to combine.
Pour the shrimp and melted butter into the air fryer basket. Cook at 370 degrees F for 5-6 minutes, or until shrimp is cooked through, flipping halfway during cooking.
Plate the shrimp, then pour the garlic butter sauce over the top of the shrimp.
Top with fresh chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
All air fryers cook differently. You may need to adjust cooking times based on your air fryer. Cook times will also depend on the size of your shrimp. Small shrimp may only need 4-5 minutes to cook through.
You should cook this in an air fryer that has an area for the butter sauce to cook as well, like a basket air fryer. Most tray air fryers will work with this as well, as the butter can cook in the tray. Butter should not touch a heating element.
If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely before cooking.
Serve with extra lemon slices or an additional squeeze of lemon, if desired!
