Chop pistachios and walnuts into small pieces and add to a bowl. Add the honey and stir together.
Slice a croissant in half lengthwise.
Spread the honey nut mixture onto the cut sides of the croissants.
Place croissant halves into the air fryer. Air fry at 380 degrees F for 2-3 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
Plate, and drizzle with more honey if desired.
Notes
All air fryers cook differently. Make sure to check frequently for doneness to make sure your croissant and nuts don't burn.
You do not preheat your air fryer for this recipe.
For an even more decadent balkava croissant, you can add a tablespoon of melted butter to the honey and nuts before adding to the croissant halves.
You can experiment with other breads too! English muffins or thick rustic bread would also be delicious.
While this recipe makes one croissant, you can slice it into smaller pieces to serve 2-4 people (which I would recommend doing, as it's pretty rich!)
