Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Dry on paper towels and lay out to dry for at least 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes. Add the chickpeas, oil, salt, and garlic powder to a bowl. Stir to combine.
Add chickpeas to air fryer basket. Cook for 13-17 minutes at 400 degrees F, shaking several times during cooking.
Once chickpeas are crispy, remove from air fryer and enjoy.
Notes
Don't add too many chickpeas to the basket at once. You should be fine using 1 can, but you definitely want to make sure there is room for the air to circulate.
Pat dry with paper towels before air frying. This will help the chickpeas to crisp up nicely.
While I added garlic powder to the chickpeas prior to cooking, for most other seasonings you may prefer to add them after cooking to keep them from burning.
All air fryers cook differently. Check frequently for doneness to make sure chickpeas are crispy but not burnt. Start checking at 13 minute mark, but chickpeas may take 16 or 17 minutes to crisp up.
