Making frozen cod in the air fryer is quick and requires no thawing! This easy recipe for air fryer frozen cod is perfect when you want to get dinner on the table quickly.
Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees F.
While air fryer preheats, remove the cod from packaging if needed. Place on a plate and drizzle with olive oil. Rub the olive oil all over the surface of the cod.
Season cod with salt and pepper, then sprinkle dried oregano all over the cod.
Place in air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at 380 degrees F, then flip and cook for another 6-8 minutes, or until cod reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
Plate and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top of the cod.
Notes
Cook time will depend on the thickness of your cod. This is why I highly recommend a meat thermometer to check and see when the internal temperature of your cod reaches 145 degrees F.
You can easily cook more cod fillets at the same time if you're cooking for 2, 3, or 4 people, just make sure there is a little room between them for the air to circulate.
If your frozen cod is wrapped in plastic, make sure all the plastic is removed before seasoning and cooking.
Sometimes frozen cod can dry out a little in the air fryer if you don't watch it carefully. If this happens, definitely serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a sauce.
