Miso butter salmon is ready in less than 20 minutes! This is an easy recipe to make, but has so much delicious flavor from the miso, soy sauce, and butter.
Add the room temperature butter, miso paste, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sliced green onions to a bowl. Mash together until combined.
Pat salmon dry with paper towels and remove any bones.
Divide the miso butter mixture between the salmon fillets, spreading over the top of each. Place salmon in an ovenproof skillet.
Cook salmon for 14-15 minutes, and then broil the top for 1-2 minutes to caramelize.
Plate the salmon and pour the melted miso butter sauce over the top of the salmon. (Top with extra green onions and some sesame seeds if desired).
Notes
Use an ovenproof skillet for cooking the salmon. This will allow you to pour the melted miso butter on top of the salmon.
I use salted butter for this. If using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt to the miso butter mixture.
You can also make this recipe on the stove. (I've done it many times!) If cooking on the stove, sear the salmon, then add the miso butter at the end to melt. Finish cooking the salmon in the miso butter and spoon the melted miso butter on top of the salmon when plating.
Cooking time may depend on the size and thickness of your salmon.
