Air fryer honey dijon salmon is quick and easy to make for a healthy lunch or dinner. It takes less than 10 minutes to cook, and is flavorful and delicious!
I absolutely love cooking salmon in the air fryer. From this air fryer teriyaki salmon to this honey garlic salmon, they've all been delicious. And now I have this honey mustard dijon salmon that I love making too!
Why cook salmon in the air fryer
- Salmon in the air fryer cooks up quicker than in the oven.
- The air fryer honey mustard salmon cooks perfectly and the inside stays flaky.
- Doesn't require heating up a big oven during those summer months, so it keeps your house cooler and saves energy!
Ingredients
- Salmon fillet
- Dijon mustard
- Honey
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
How to make air fryer honey mustard salmon
First, preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees F.
While air fryer preheats, take your olive oil, dijon mustard, honey, and garlic powder and put into a small bowl.
Stir to combine.
Pat the salmon dry and remove any bones if needed. You can leave the skin on or off for this recipe. (I used salmon that already had the skin removed). Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
Spoon the honey mustard sauce over the salmon. If you have leftovers, you might save it to drizzle over the salmon after it cooks for additional flavor (optional). Rub the honey mustard sauce into the salmon to coat on all sides.
Place the salmon in the air fryer basket, skin side down (if you left the skin on) and cook on 400 degrees F for 7-9 minutes (may take longer if your salmon is thicker).
Remove, and serve topped with fresh or dried parsley and lemon for squeezing.
Cooking tips
- All air fryers cook differently, and salmon comes in different thickness, so check your salmon with a meat thermometer. Salmon should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F for complete safety and well-done or 135 degrees F for more of a medium-rare.
- Save a little of the honey dijon sauce for drizzling on the salmon afterwards for a boost of extra flavor.
How to customize
- If you don't have dijon mustard, you can use stone-ground mustard.
- Mix some fresh chopped dill into the honey mustard sauce or top the salmon with fresh dill.
- For a little more brightness, add ½ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the glaze.
- Add a little sriracha or sweet chili sauce to the glaze for a touch of spice.
What to serve with the salmon

So good! I actually don't like honey mustard very much, but was seraching for air fryer salmon recipes and decided to give it a try! We used course ground Dijon and a little extra garlic powder. Following the cooking instructions, it was cooked perfectly! That doesn't happen often in my experience. Served with the lemon wedges it was even more delicious. We should have had leftovers, but we did not.. Will make again!
