Air fryer salmon steaks cook up quickly and are so delicious! They are perfectly seasoned and the salmon steaks are flaky and tender.
If you ask me what my favorite thing to make in the air fryer is... salmon is going to be REALLY high up on that list. Salmon fillets are great, but salmon steaks are also so easy to make in the air fryer and delicious!
I used a honey mustard glaze to flavor these, but you can absolutely get creative! I jotted down a few ideas further down the post if you want to try some different flavors on these salmon steaks.
This was so good, now every time I spot salmon steaks at the store, I will have to grab some to cook up in my air fryer. My husband called this "decadent without being rich" and gave it five stars, so I know it's a winner and will be entering our dinner rotation!
Ingredients
- Salmon steaks - these are different than salmon fillets. They look like a steak and have a bone in the very middle.
- Dijon mustard - I love dijon, but you can use regular mustard if that's what you have
- Olive oil - I use extra virgin olive oil, but you can use regular olive oil or even something like avocado oil
- Honey - You can also swap this out for maple syrup if you prefer
- Smoked paprika - I love the smokiness of smoked paprika, but you can use regular paprika as well
- Salt
- Pepper
How to make air fryer salmon steak
Add marinade ingredients to a bowl.
Stir together to combine.
Pat salmon steaks dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and pepper.
Add honey mustard marinade to the salmon steaks, flip, and add more marinade to the other side.
Preheat your air fryer, then brush basket with oil. Add salmon steaks and cook at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 10-12 minutes. Don't worry if the edges look a little browned! That's the sugar from the marinade caramelizing as the salmon steaks cook.
Plate and enjoy!
Recipe tips
- This recipe can be modified to serve 1, simply halve the ingredients. If you want to serve more, simply adjust as needed.
