Dubai chocolate strawberry cup is like an incredible chocolate covered strawberry bowl. It has an amazing texture from the kataifi pistachio mixture paired with fresh strawberries.

Am I caught up in the Dubai chocolate trend? Yes, yes I am. I mean, it's just such a tasty combination! Pistachio. Chocolate. Crispy pieces for the most unbelievable texture.
And when the Dubai chocolate trend is paired with strawberries you get this delicious Dubai chocolate strawberry cup. It brings an added freshness which is perfect for spring and summer.
You can make this in a cup (some people like layering it up) or a small bowl.
Ingredients
- Strawberries - The key component! Make sure you have fresh, really good strawberries for this
- Kataifi pastry - This is shredded phyllo dough. I found this in in the refrigerated section at my grocery store. It also goes by the names kadaif, and kadayif. It's pale in color, and then you toast it in a skillet to get crispy.
- Butter - You'll use this to crisp up the phyllo dough.
- Pistachio cream - This is like peanut butter or almond butter, but made with pistachios. It also tends to be thinner and more liquid than peanut butter.
- Chocolate chips or chocolate bar - You can use your favorite chocolate for melting to cover your Dubai chocolate strawberries
- Coconut oil or butter - A little coconut oil or butter helps give the chocolate a nice shine and texture.
- Chopped pistachios (optional) - For an extra added crunch and visual appeal!
How to make a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup
Wash your strawberries and slice off the tops and add to a cup or bowl.
Next, melt butter in a medium skillet and then add kataifi pastry. Stir frequently with a spatula until kataifi is browned and crispy. Watch carefully and make sure not to burn! Transfer the crispy kataifi pastry to a bowl.
Add the pistachio cream to a bowl and stir to combine.
Top the strawberries with the crispy pistachio mixture.
Next, melt your chocolate and butter or coconut oil. You can do this in short bursts in the microwave, or use a double boiler. I prefer the double boiler method, as I can make sure the chocolate doesn't burn!
Once chocolate is all melty, pour over the strawberries and add some fresh chopped pistachios.
Recipe tips
- If your pistachio cream is on the sweeter side, you may choose to use a semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
- This recipe is easy to customize! You can slice up your strawberries instead of leaving them whole if you prefer. You can also add a little tahini to the pistachio cream mixture if you want.
- If you're making this in a cup/glass, you can layer the strawberries, chocolate, and crispy pistachio mixture.
