Air fryer lemon herb chicken breast is an easy recipe to make for a weeknight dinner or for meal prepping chicken! This air fryer chicken has so much flavor with only a few simple ingredients.
This air fryer lemon herb chicken is a favorite of mine, because I love prepping a bunch and using it in various ways! It can be used on top of or in pasta, chopped up and used in meal prep bowls, salads, the possibilities are endless.
The bonus is that it is so incredibly easy to make and cooks up quickly. All you have to do is mix everything together, marinate the chicken breasts, and then cook in the air fryer.
The cooking time WILL depend on your specific size of chicken breast, so I highly recommend using a meat thermometer to check for doneness so you don't overcook or undercook your chicken.
Ingredients
- Chicken breast
- Olive oil
- Lemon (juice and zest)
- Dried thyme
- Dried oregano
- Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
How to make air fryer lemon herb chicken
To a decent-sized bowl (large enough for your chicken to fit in), add the olive oil, juice and zest of one lemon, dried thyme, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Stir to combine, then add the chicken. Coat the chicken in the marinade and set aside for 15-20 minutes.

Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes, then add the chicken to the air fryer. Cook for 10 minutes at 380 degrees F (190 C).

After 10 minutes, flip and cook an additional 4-10 minutes, until internal temperature reads 165 degrees F. (Cook time will depend on the size of your chicken).

Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and enjoy!

- The cook time will depend on the size and thickness of the chicken breast. Smaller chicken breasts may be done in 14 minutes total, while larger may take 18-20 minutes. I highly recommend a meat thermometer to check when the internal temperature measures 165 degrees F.
- This recipe is easy to double if you have more chicken breasts. I will frequently do 4 at a time, especially if the chicken breasts are small/medium size.
