Homemade brown sugar baked beans are an easy side dish! These baked beans are perfect for weeknights since they are so easy, but they are also the perfect side dish for a potluck!

Homemade baked beans with bacon this recipe

These baked beans were a staple in my house growing up. For two reasons. One, because they are so delicious, everyone loved them. And two, because they are SO easy to make.

This is an easy side dish that pairs well with so many other dishes. It's got a little sweet from the brown sugar. The umami from the Worcestershire sauce. And then that added flavor kick from the mustard and onion.

I finally got the recipe from my mom, and we made them together over Christmas so I could see exactly how she did it and share with you guys!

Ingredients

  • Bacon

  • Brown sugar
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Yellow mustard
  • Onion powder

Recipe tips

  • This dish is one that is easy to make in advance for large gatherings. It's also easy to double, just use a large casserole dish or a 9x13 pan if doubling the recipe.
  • If you would like to use onion instead of onion powder, you can use half an onion, diced. Saute the onion in the bacon drippings before adding to the beans.
