(Note - This recipe is for the Ninja Creami Deluxe)
I'm from Texas, home of hot hot summers, and I've enjoyed many a frozen margarita in my life. Happy hour? Order a margarita. Hot day? Order a margarita. Eating tacos? Order a margarita.
And it can be hard to make them at home. To that that perfect level of frozen margarita where it is just the perfect blended margarita. But! Luckily! The Ninja Creami makes AMAZING frozen margaritas. Perfectly blended, tastes delicious.
We tried out a couple of different methods to make sure we were giving you the best margarita recipe for the Ninja Creami. We tried adding tequila first and freezing it in the container. We tried adding tequila after the mixture was already frozen. And Josh and I both agreed on the clear winner. (It's adding the tequila after freezing).

How to make a frozen margarita in the Ninja Creami
Add the margarita mix and water to the Ninja Creami pint and freeze for at least 24 hours.
Take a glass and rub lime or water around the rim and then press rim of glass into salt (if you want a salted rim, otherwise skip this step).
Take the Creami pint out of the freezer and add 1 cup tequila to the top of the frozen mixture (note - this recipe is for Ninja Creami Deluxe models). For a less strong margarita, you can do ¾ cup tequila and ¼ cup water.
Process the FULL drink on the FROZEN DRINK setting and pour into glasses.
Optional: Add a squeeze of lime juice to the drink and serve with a lime wedge or wheel.
Recipe tips
- If salting the rim of your margarita, make sure to do it before adding the margarita!
- You can adjust the strength of your margarita by adding more or less tequila versus water when processing. For a less strong margarita, you can do ¾ cup tequila and ¼ cup water.
- To make a mocktail version, simply add margarita mix and water and leave out the tequila. Add water when blending instead of tequila.
