English muffins are so easy to toast in the air fryer. This method allows for perfect toasting of the English muffins every single time. You can also cook multiple English muffins at a time this way!
I was recently toasting English muffins in my toaster and getting frustrated. It seems like no matter how I adjust the settings on my toaster, I'm either getting stuff TOO toasted or not enough and I have to toast it a second time.
I toasted up an English muffin and it was definitely not done to my liking. So annoying.
So I walked over to my trusty air fryer and so much better and easier.
Using the air fryer is the perfect way to toast English muffins without using a toaster.
Why toast an English muffin in the air fryer
Quick - Toasting an English muffin in the air fryer can be just as quick or quicker than toasting it in the toaster!
Can check on progress - Not sure how long to toast the muffin? You can just pop open that air fryer basket to check for doneness! Much easier than the toaster.
Perfect every time - Once you know how much you like it done, no fiddling with settings. No uneven toasting. Just perfect every time.
Can toast several at a time - I just have one of those toasters which toasts two slices of bread at a time. Which means just one English muffin at a time. But my air fryer can toast two English muffins at a time.
Ingredients
- English muffins
- Butter (optional)
How to serve the English muffin
I love English muffins just simply served with a little butter. However, here's a few more ideas on how to use your toasted English muffins.
- Top with cheese and breakfast sausage to make a breakfast sandwich.
- Make into an air fryer English muffin pizza.
- Top with air fryer poached eggs and hollandaise sauce to make eggs benedict.
- Spread your favorite jam on the muffin or top with whipped strawberry butter.
- Serve with a side of air fryer twisted bacon.
Tips
- Split the English muffin in half with a fork rather than a knife. This helps preserve the texture of the muffin.
- Check frequently for doneness starting around the 3 minute mark. All air fryers cook differently.
Why do you split English muffins with a fork?
Breaking English muffins in half with a fork helps preserve the texture of the English muffin. If you break apart the muffin with a knife, it evens out all the "nooks and crannies" that make English muffins so special.
However, it's a matter of preference! If you like doing it with a knife, go for it.
Toasting times
- 3 minutes - lightly toasted
- 4 minutes - medium toasted, crispy
- 5 minutes - well toasted, very crispy
