Ninja Creami peppermint protein ice cream is a delicious peppermint ice cream made with only four simple ingredients.
Peppermint is one of my daughter's favorite ice cream flavors. So I decided to whip up a peppermint protein ice cream in my Ninja Creami for her. It's so good. Full of delicious peppermint flavor, while it also is a high-protein Ninja Creami recipe!
Even better? The protein comes from ricotta. No protein shakes or powders needed. The ricotta gives the peppermint protein ice cream so much creaminess and that boost of protein. Delicious and easy to make with only four ingredients!
Ingredients
- Ricotta
- Milk
- Sugar
- Peppermint extract
How to make Ninja Creami peppermint protein ice cream
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into your Ninja Creami container and freeze for at least 24 hours on a level surface.

Remove from the freezer and process on the Light Ice Cream setting. If needed, add a splash of milk and respin. (Your ice cream may need a couple of respins based on your freezer and desired consistency of ice cream. Mine just needed one!)

If you want, top with crushed peppermint pieces or other toppings!

Recipe tips
- I used ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract for a strong peppermint flavor. If you want more of a subtle peppermint flavor, only use ¼ teaspoon extract.
- If you have leftovers, smooth out the top and return to the freezer. You may need to process again before enjoying.
- I topped my peppermint ice cream with crushed peppermint pieces, but it would be delicious topped with crushed oreos, peppermint patties, etc.
- I used ricotta as it adds protein while still being very neutral in flavor, however you can use a low-acid cottage cheese if you prefer. Just make sure it doesn't have a tangy taste, otherwise your ice cream will have a tangy taste.
