This crazy feta dip is a delicious creamy whipped treat that is perfect as a spread for sandwiches or in grains bowls or salads. It's a copycat version of CAVA's tasty Crazy Feta.

I'm guilty of going to CAVA way too often. And my current addiction is their spicy Crazy Feta dip. I always add it to my salads. I love using it as a spread or a dip. It just adds such a delicious salty and brininess that I cannot get enough of.
And because I can't go to CAVA every single day, I had to make my own homemade copycat recipe for Crazy Feta.
I grabbed the ingredients at the store and made my own crazy feta that I love having with everything from salads to on my morning toast.
Ingredients
- Feta cheese
- Jalapeno pepper
- Red onion
- Extra virgin olive oil
How to make crazy feta
First, crumble the block of feta into your food processor and add the chopped jalapeno and chopped red onion.
Pulse several times until combined.
Add the olive oil and puree until feta is whipped and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed.
Serve as desired!
What is crazy feta?
Crazy Feta is a creation by the restaurant chain CAVA. The CAVA restaurants serve Mediterranean-inspired bowls where you can choose your base, proteins, and toppings. You can also get delicious additions like this crazy feta, regular feta, and a lot of other options!
CAVA's Crazy Feta in a whipped spicy feta dip that has jalapeños, red onions, and extra virgin olive oil. You can actually buy the dip at some retailers, but I love making my own homemade version!
Customization ideas
While I do feel like CAVA's version is perfect, here are some ideas for customization for making your own creamy whipped feta dip.
- Add some fresh or dried oregano
- For an even creamier version, add a scoop of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese
- For a sweeter version, leave out the jalapenos and red onion and whip the feta with some fresh lemon juice and some honey
How to serve the crazy feta
I love serving a scoop of this spicy whipped feta in my CAVA-copycat bowls. The jalapeno feta dip is also delicious as a dip! I love having it with crackers, fresh veggies, or served with some pita or pita chips.
My newest favorite way to have it is to add it to sandwiches, just like you would an aioli or mustard.
How long does the crazy feta dip last in the fridge?
In a covered, tightly sealed container, the spicy feta dip should last for 1-2 weeks.
Recipe tips
- The dip is not very spicy, as the creamy feta helps balance out any heat. For a spicier version, add more diced jalapeno to taste.
- This recipe creates a creamy feta dip. If you would prefer it a little looser, add a teaspoon of olive oil when blending or some Greek yogurt.
- This recipe is easy to double for a crowd!
- You can either use precrumbled feta or a block of feta, just make sure it is 8 ounces of feta cheese.

Hello
I don't see the red pepper in the measurements. How much do we add? Is it roasted red pepper? I'm excited to try this recipe.
Thank you
Tamara
Aimee
Apologies, that was supposed to say red onion in the directions not red pepper. I just fixed it. :)
Tamara
Thank you for clarifying the recipe. 😁
And oh WOW, I just made this and happy I doubled it. I didn't change anything and it is absolutely delicious. I will be making this again and again and again... 🤗
Aimee
Yay! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. And thanks again for bringing the error to my attention so I could fix it!

This is so good! Needed a tad more olive oil because I like it creamy! The taste was awesome!
