Air fryer flatbread pizza is a healthy and delicious way to make pizza. This quick and easy air fryer recipe results in a crisp crust and a tasty meal that's perfect for an easy lunch or for pizza night.

Pizza in less than 10 minutes? Yes please.

I always love recipes that are pretty easy, can be customized, are so delicious, and quick. This flatbread pizza recipe checks all those boxes.

Because the pizza is made in your air fryer, it doesn't require any preheating! All you need to do is throw the ingredients on your flatbread, and then cook in the air fryer for less than 5 minutes.

This is the perfect recipe to make for pizza night because it allows for so much customization! Everyone can make their own individual pizza just the way they like them, and they cook up so quickly. It's also great for summer when you don't want to have your oven on for a long period of time.

Ingredients

  • Flatbread
  • Tomato sauce
  • Cheese
  • Dried oregano
  • Fresh basil

What is flatbread?

Flatbread is unleavened bread, which is bread made without yeast. There are many types of flatbread including naan bread, pita bread, lavash, and roti. In this version, I used a flatbread that is similar to tortillas, but this air fryer flatbread pizza recipe and instructions will work great with most types of flatbread.

Using flatbread to make air fryer pizza is a great alternative to regular pizza dough.

Customization ideas:

  • Swap out the tomato sauce for your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • Make a bbq chicken flatbread with bbq sauce, onions, chicken, and cheese
  • Top with slices of tomato or pepperoni
  • Add roasted garlic and bacon or sausage

How to serve:

I always love eating my pizza as is! However, you can always serve with a side salad, or even with this arugula salad on top of your pizza!

If you're looking for a pre-pizza appetizer, I love these blistered shishito peppers or spicy edamame.

And for dessert, I love some some simple fresh fruit (also made in the air fryer) like these air fryer peaches, air fryer pineapple, or air fryer bananas.

Recipe tips:

  • The flatbread can cook quickly in the air fryer. Check around the 3 minute mark, but it may take up to 5 minutes, depending on the type of flatbread used and also your air fryer.
  • Note that the more toppings you add, the heavier your flatbread will be! That might be okay with something like pita or naan bread, but with thinner flatbreads, that will make it a little harder to pick up to eat.
  • All air fryers cook differently. Check frequently for doneness.
  • Measurements are not given in this recipe, because the amount of tomato sauce, cheese, and toppings is completely up to you. Some people like more sauce, some people like more cheese.
  • This recipe is best served right away. I don't recommend storing and reheating for later.

How to make air fryer flatbread pizza:

Make sure that your flatbread will fit in your air fryer in a single layer! In my case, my flatbread was slightly too large, so I cut it in two and cooked them separately.

Add your tomato sauce or marinara sauce to your flatbread and spread, leaving a tiny border around the edges, just like on a traditional pizza.

Sprinkle dried oregano on top of the tomato sauce.

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 390 degrees F for about 4 minutes, checking frequently for doneness. You want a crispy pizza crust ideally.
