Air Fryer Honey Sriracha Salmon is a delicious and flavorful seafood recipe. The salmon is coated in a honey sriracha glaze and marinade that gives the salmon spicy and sweet flavors. The salmon cooks in less than 10 minutes, and is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Salmon may be one of my favorite things to cook in my air fryer. It just comes out perfect every time. I love experimenting with different flavors.

I've made air fryer honey mustard salmon, air fryer honey garlic salmon, air fryer brown sugar salmon, but my new favorite is this air fryer honey sriracha salmon.

The honey sriracha salmon glaze gives the salmon both a sweet flavor and a spicy kick from the sriracha. And I love the combination of sweet and spicy. It's such a "match made in heaven" in my kitchen and is absolutely delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Salmon fillet - I love using wild salmon, but use what you have!
  • Sriracha sauce - This is the delicious sauce with the rooster on the bottle! If you can't find sriracha, scroll down for substitution ideas.
  • Soy sauce - Soy sauce adds a depth of flavor to the honey sriracha marinade. Regular soy sauce or tamari can be used.
  • Honey - Honey adds that delicious sweet that pairs well with the spicy.
  • Oil (optional) - To brush or spray on the air fryer basket to prevent the salmon from sticking. Olive oil or avocado oil are my preferences.

Why make this recipe:

  • Easy - This recipe is so easy to make and only requires 4 ingredients including the salmon. And it's easy to double, triple, quadruple with more salmon fillets.
  • Quick - The salmon cooks in less than 10 minutes in the air fryer and the recipe requires very little hands-on prep time.
  • Flavorful - The sriracha and the honey combine for a flavorful marinade and sauce that it sweet and spicy.

What is sriracha?

Sriracha is a hot chili sauce commonly used in Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. It's made with peppers, vinegar, and sugar. It's slightly spicy and is delicious when used in sauces or drizzled over the top of food. The squeeze bottle design makes it perfect for this!

What can you use instead of sriracha?

If you can't find sriracha, a good alternative is sambal oelek. It's very similar in flavor.

Harissa could be a good alternative to sriracha sauce, especially the mild type as it would not be overly spicy mixed with the other ingredients.

How to customize:

  • Don't have honey? You can swap out for some maple syrup or a bit of brown sugar. (If using brown sugar, add a tablespoon of water).
  • For additional flavors, add some garlic powder, onion powder, or even a little sesame oil to the marinade.
  • Want it spicier? to sipe up the honey sriracha glaze, add red pepper flakes or more sriracha.
  • Here is a basic air fryer salmon recipe you can customize with spices or flavorings as you like.

What to serve with the salmon:

This salmon is delicious topped with sesame seeds and some sliced green onions or your favorite fresh herb (I use cilantro).

I love serving the honey sriracha salmon with some rice and air fried sesame green beans, but serve with your favorite veggies! The salmon is also tasty on top of a salad or in a wrap.

Recipe tips:

  • Set aside a tablespoon of the marinade (before placing the raw salmon in the marinade) to brush on the salmon after air frying. This honey sriracha glaze will help give the salmon that extra boost of flavor.
  • Make sure to discard the marinade after removing the salmon. Leftover marinade should not be used after the raw salmon is in there. (This is why you set aside a Tablespoon before placing the salmon in the marinade).
  • Cook time - All air fryers cook differently. Check frequently for doneness. Cooking times will also vary based on the thickness of your salmon fillets.

How to make:

First, mix together the honey sriracha sauce. Add the sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and honey to a bowl.

Stir together to combine. Then take 1 tablespoon of glaze and set aside in a small bowl. You'll use this after the salmon is cooked in the air fryer.

Pat the salmon filet dry with paper towels and remove any bones if needed. You can also remove the skin if desired.

Place the salmon fillet in the marinade and coat all sides of the salmon. Set aside to marinade for at least 30 minutes, but up to 2 hours. (You can also do this in a ziplock bag if it's easier).

Remove salmon from the glaze and place in the air fryer basket, skin side down. If you have removed the skin from the salmon, you may want to brush or spray your air fryer with a bit of oil so the salmon does not stick to the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 400 degrees F for 6-8 minutes. Cook salmon until flaky and done to your liking.
