If you're a grapefruit lover, this recipe is for you. The grapefruit gets slightly warmed up in the air fryer, while the sugar on top gets perfectly caramelized. This is a delicious air fryer-broiled grapefruit that is perfect to brighten any day!

For a special treat, you can serve with yogurt and granola, or even ice cream for a delicious dessert. And if you decide to add a touch of flaky sea salt, it really brings a whole other dimension to the air fryer grapefruit!

Ingredients:

  • Grapefruit
  • Brown sugar
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Why make grapefruit in the air fryer?

I love broiled grapefruit. When the sugar gets heated up and caramelized. But I don't always want to turn on my oven. So if I have my air fryer out, I use that instead!

  • Doesn't require heating up your whole oven.
  • Easy and quick!
  • The sugar gets nicely caramelized, adding a sweetness to an otherwise bitter grapefruit.

Recipe tips:

  • I love to either use a grapefruit spoon to eat my grapefruit and/or cut out the segments with a knife prior to adding the sugar. This allows for a much easier time eating the grapefruit! Just go around each segment until it loosens, but leave it in the grapefruit.
  • All air fryers cook differently, you may need to adjust cooking times based on your air fryer.
  • May need more/less brown sugar depending on size of grapefruit.
  • The sea salt is optional, but does add a nice extra flavor and depth to the grapefruit.
