Ninja Creami protein cookies and cream ice cream this recipe

Cookies and cream is one of the best ice cream flavors out there. I grew up on it, and we often had it in our freezer when I was a kid.

I've made a Ninja Creami cookies and cream ice cream before, but I haven't done a protein version. And since most of the ice creams I've been enjoying lately have been protein versions, I had to make a cookies and cream protein Ninja Creami ice cream.

The protein comes from cottage cheese and milk. No protein powders or protein shakes in this one! This means you can make it using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos, or something similar)

How to make Ninja Creami protein cookies and cream

Add the cottage cheese, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract to the Ninja Creami container and stir to combine. Freeze for at least 18 hours on a level surface in your freezer.

Ice cream ingredients mixed together

Remove from the freezer and process on the ice cream setting. If crumbly (like photo below, add a splash of milk and respin as many times as you need).

Ice cream after first process

Cut 4 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos) into small pieces. Create a hole in the center of your Ninja Creami ice cream and add the chopped Oreo cookies. Process on the "mix in" setting.

Adding oreos to ice cream

Your cookies and cream ice cream should look like this!

If you want, chop up one more cookie and add to the top of your Creami. Enjoy!

Recipe tips

  • Before processing my ice cream, I run warm water along the edge of the container for 30-45 seconds to thaw the outer layer.
  • If you have leftovers, simply smooth down, and return to the freezer. You may need to process again.
