Ninja Creami strawberry cottage cheese ice cream comes out super creamy. It's the perfect way to add protein to ice cream without protein powder!

Am I in my cottage cheese era? I might be if it makes ice cream as good as this. I decided to grab a little tub of cottage cheese at the store the other day to make ice cream with, and wow. This is the creamiest ice cream I've made in my Ninja Creami yet!
And it's a perfect way to add protein to your Creami ice cream without using protein powder! Just simple ingredients. And that strawberry flavor is just SO good. So YES I will be making this Ninja Creami strawberry cottage cheese ice cream on repeat. Easy, delicious, and definitely a favorite.
Ingredients
- Cottage cheese
- Strawberries
- Sugar
- Milk
- Vanilla extract
How to make Ninja Creami cottage cheese ice cream
Dice your strawberries and add you the Ninja Creami container. Add sugar and let sit for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the strawberries and sugar to help form a syrup.
Mash the strawberries and sugar with a fork. The end result should look like this!
Add cottage cheese directly to the Ninja Creami container.
Add milk and vanilla and stir everything together, making sure the ice cream base is mixed well. You will still have strawberry pieces and cottage cheese curds, but don't worry! They will get blended when the ice cream processes.
Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Remove from the freezer and run hot water on the outside of the Ninja Creami pint. (This will help the ice cream get properly mixed). Process on the Lite Ice Cream setting. If your ice cream is crumbly, add a splash of milk (about a Tablespoon) and respin. Ice cream should come out looking perfectly creamy like shown below!
Enjoy straight from the pint, or scoop out into a bowl.
Recipe tips
- Make sure to let the strawberries sit in the sugar for at least 5 minutes before mashing! This allows them to release juices that make them easier to mash.
- Always make sure to place ice cream on a level surface when freezing. If you store your ice cream in your freezer at an angle, your ice cream will not freeze at a level surface and you risk damaging your Creami when processing.
- If you have leftover ice cream, level out the top and stick back in the freezer. Either reprocess if needed before enjoying again or scoop out directly if ice cream is scoopable consistency.
