Air Fryer Boneless Chicken Thighs

Air fryer boneless chicken thighs are ready in less than 20 minutes! The chicken thighs cook perfectly in the air fryer, making for an easy and delicious meal.

Making boneless skinless chicken thighs in the air fryer is one of the easiest ways to get lunch or dinner on your table. The chicken thighs take only 20 minutes to cook.

Once cooked, they are delicious in salads, bowls, or even soups! And just served on their own. Depending on the time of year, I like to serve them in a way that makes sense.

In summer, I serve the chicken on a salad or salad bowl. In the winter, I may top soup or bean dishes with the chicken thighs.

And I will just serve them with a side dish any time of year. In summer, maybe it's fresh tomatoes. In winter, it could be an air fried baked sweet potato.

And even better? This recipe is easy to customize based on what spices and seasonings you love. However, below is a combination of flavors I love. Smoky from the paprika, brightness from the lemon, and savory notes from the onion and garlic powders. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • Boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon (you'll use the juice from half a lemon)
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to make air fryer boneless chicken thighs

Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes.

Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Add olive oil and lemon juice to chicken and mix together.

Add spices to a small bowl.

Seasonings in a small bowl.

Stir together the spices.

Seasonings mixed together.

Then, add the seasoning and mix together until chicken thighs are coated in spice mixture.

After the air fryer is done preheating, add chicken thighs in an even layer.

Cook the chicken thighs at 380 degrees F for 12 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 6-8 minutes, or until chicken thighs reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F (highly recommend having a meat thermometer on hand for this!)

Note that larger thighs may take closer to the 8 minutes cook time after flipping, whereas smaller thighs may only need 6 minutes.

Recipe tips

  • Cooking times may vary based on the size of your chicken thighs. I highly recommend using a meat thermometer to make sure chicken thighs are safely cooked. Chicken thighs should be cooked to a temperature of at least 165 degrees F (I usually prefer the texture when I cook mine to at least 175 degrees F).
  • You can either use 4 or 6 chicken thighs to make this recipe and keep all the other measurements the same.
  • This recipe is easy to customize with your favorite spices and seasonings!

What to serve with boneless skinless thighs

I love serving the air fried boneless thighs sliced up on a salad and sometimes in soup! They are also delicious with a side of air fryer tomatoes, air fryer zucchini, air fryer green beans, or air fryer sweet potatoes.

This recipe is so easy to customize with your favorite seasonings and spices. Here are a few ideas.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees F.
  • While air fryer preheats, dry chicken thighs with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Add olive oil and juice from ½ a lemon and combine until coated.
  • In a small bowl, add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Add seasoning mix to chicken thighs and stir together until chicken thighs are coated.
  • Add chicken thighs to air fryer basket. Cook at 380 degrees F for 12 minutes. Flip, then cook an additional 6-8 minutes.
  • Plate and enjoy.
