Air fryer chili lime cod is a quick and easy fish to make. Ready in only 15 minutes, making cod in the air fryer is easy and delicious. The lime butter sauce adds an additional decadence to the dish.
So often I want to cook something up for a quick lunch that is ready in less than 15 minutes. And this air fryer cod is perfect for that!
The cod gets seasoned with chili powder and then cooked in the air fryer. I love to then serve with a lime butter sauce, but you can also just squeeze some fresh lime over the top.
The result? A quick and easy meal that tastes like I put WAY more time and effort into it than I did.

Ingredients
- Cod - you can use fresh or frozen, just thaw frozen cod completely
- Olive oil
- Chili powder
- Lime
- Salt and pepper
- Butter (optional)
How to customize
You can customize this air fried cod in a lot of different ways! You can easily swap out the lime for lemon. You can also use a different spice like paprika or smoked paprika in place of the chili powder.
Want to add additional flavors? Sometimes I will add a little cumin or even a little curry powder to the butter lime sauce.
What to serve with the chili lime cod
The chili lime cod is delicious served with a variety of side dishes!
I love it with air fryer green beans, air fryer baked sweet potatoes, air fryer zucchini, air fryer roasted potatoes, or air fried smashed potatoes.

How to make chili lime cod in the air fryer
Pat cod dry with paper towels and drizzle olive oil over the cod. Rub into all surfaces.
Sprinkle cod with salt and pepper.
Add chili powder and rub into the top of the cod.
Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes and add the cod to the air fryer.
Air fry cod at 380 degrees F for 10 minutes.
Plate the cod.
Either melt butter and mix with lime juice OR just just use lime juice. Add to the cod.
Top with fresh herbs (I used parsley). Enjoy!

Air Fryer Chili Lime Cod

- 6 ounces cod
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- 1 lime
- 1 Tablespoon butter optional
- Fresh herbs optional
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- While air fryer preheats, pat the cod dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over cod and rub into all sides. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and then add the chili powder to the top of the cod.
- After air fryer preheats, add the cod to the air fryer basket. Cook at 380 degrees F for 10 minutes.
- Melt the butter in a small bowl. Add the juice from the lime. Plate the cod, and then spoon the butter mixture over the top of the cod. (Alternately, you could just squeeze lime over the cod and not use butter if desired).
- Top with fresh herbs if desired.
