Virgin strawberry mojito mocktails are a tasty way to enjoy summer strawberries in a nonalcoholic drink. These mojito mocktails are refreshing, lightly sweetened, with the perfect strawberry flavor. Easy to enjoy all summer long and kid-friendly.

I'm always on the hunt for tasty and easy mocktails, and this strawberry one does not disappoint. All it really requires is smashing of fruit, adding ice, and pouring over sparkling water. No shaking! It's such an easy no-shake cocktail.

What is a mojito?

A mojito is a rum cocktail that has rum, mint, lime, simple syrup/sugar, and sparkling water. It originated in Cuba, and has a storied history.

In our version, we add strawberries, use honey instead of simple syrup, and then leave out the alcohol for a virgin, nonalcoholic mojito.

Can you use frozen strawberries?

This virgin mojito recipe is really made for fresh strawberries. The strawberries should be soft and easy to muddle. If you did want to use frozen strawberries, you'd definitely need to thaw them before using. However, I strongly recommend sticking with fresh strawberries for this recipe.

How to make this boozy:

To make this boozy, simply add a splash of rum before you add the sparkling water.

Tools needed:

  • Cocktail muddler or end of a wooden spoon (or a similar utensil).

Other mocktails to love:

  • Spicy watermelon jalapeno mocktail
  • Lemon drop mocktail
  • Blueberry mojito mocktail
  • Bee's knees mocktail
  • Frozen peach bellini mocktail

Tips:

  • This recipe will either make enough for two small glasses (lowball size) or one tall glass (highball size). All the photos in this recipe show two small glasses.
  • You will need to muddle the strawberries, mint, etc. in this recipe. We highly suggest a cocktail muddler for this, as it does a fantastic job. If you don't have one, you can also use the end part of a wooden spoon or another utensil that might do a similar job.
  • The recipe for this drink is for a lightly sweetened mojito to keep it on the healthier side. If you want a little more sweetness, you can double the amount of honey.

How to make the mojito:

First, prep the ingredients. Slice each of the strawberries into at least 4 pieces and prep your mint by washing and drying the mint leaves.

Into two small glasses (or one glass if you're making a large mojito), divide your strawberries, mint, honey, and lime juice.

With a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, muddle, smash, and press the ingredients together until they reach a pulp-like stage.

After that, top with ice and sparkling water. Stir together, and then top with more mint.
