Frozen IKEA Meatballs in the air fryer are so quick and easy to make! Enjoy all the flavor of IKEA meatballs without the crowds. Cut down on the time to cook frozen Swedish meatballs by making them in your air fryer.

You know when your kids are like "I'm hungry NOOOOOOW!"

Well most of the time, I try to remind them to be patient, but to be honest, I want to get dinner on the table as quickly as possible too. And that means not waiting for the oven to preheat.

And when you cook IKEA meatballs according to the package directions, you need to wait for the oven to preheat to 450 degrees F. Depending on your oven, that can take awhile.

So instead, I've been cooking IKEA Swedish meatballs in the air fryer.

Not only is there no preheating needed, but they also cook more quickly than the oven! A win-win.

Ingredients

  • Frozen IKEA Meatballs
  • Parsley (optional)

What to serve with the IKEA Swedish Meatballs

There are so many options for serving with IKEA Swedish Meatballs. You can go classic and make some mashed potatoes and gravy. I love doing this! (I use the packaged gravy packets from IKEA).

I also love serving with some air fryer green beans and bacon, air fryer smashed potatoes, air fryer asparagus, or air fryer broccolini.

If I'm serving with a side dish not made in an air fryer, I usually opt for chipotle mashed sweet potatoes, oven roasted red cabbage, melting sweet potatoes, or roasted acorn squash with harissa.

Tips

  • All air fryers cook differently. You may need to adjust cooking times based on your air fryer.
  • If you are using non-IKEA meatballs, you may need to adjust time. The cooking times in this method were developed specifically for the frozen meatballs you can buy at IKEA.

How to make air fryer IKEA meatballs

Making air fryer frozen IKEA meatballs is so easy! First step, pop as many frozen IKEA meatballs as you want into your air fryer basket, leaving room in between for good airflow.
