Blood orange salmon is super delicious. When blood oranges are in season, I'm always looking for ways to use them.
I've made vinaigrettes, added them to farro bowls, eaten them on their own, but I love them paired with salmon.
The acidity and sweetness just pairs perfectly with the salmon.
And this is so easy to make in a skillet! Then you have a little blood orange sauce to serve with the salmon. So good and easy!

When are blood oranges in season?
Blood oranges are in season from December to April. They can also sometimes be found by the name "raspberry oranges."
Blood oranges are a little sweeter than regular oranges and less tart. They're so delicious and pretty!
Customizations
While blood orange is the star of the dish, you can substitute regular orange, but it will have a slightly different flavor.
I sometimes add some red pepper flakes for a bit of spice.
Want a little sesame flavor? Add a little sesame oil to the sauce.
What to serve with the salmon
I love serving the salmon with some air fryer baby potatoes, some air fryer edamame, or air fryer lemon asparagus.
I also love serving over sesame rice and with some fresh basil or cilantro.
