Air fryer green beans are a delicious and easy side dish! The green beans get perfectly roasted in the air fryer. The green beans can be customized in so many ways, and come out delicious every time. This is the perfect recipe to use when cooking green beans in the air fryer.

I love green beans. But so often I don't want to wait for my oven to preheat and then the green beans to cook for 15-20 minutes.

Enter the air fryer. Quick and easy.

And you can customize them in so many ways. A squeeze of fresh lemon juice once they're cooked. Or a toss of spices before cooking.

Or a drizzle of this delicious preserved lemon vinaigrette that I love over roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

  • Green beans
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to make green beans in the air fryer

Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes. Add green beans to a large bowl.

Add olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Toss to combine, then add to air fryer basket.

Cook for 8-10 minutes at 380 degrees F, shaking the basket halfway through cooking time.

How long to cook green beans in the air fryer

Green beans usually only take 8-10 minutes to cook in the air fryer. However, cook times will depend on the thickness of green beans and your specific air fryer. Adjust cooking times as needed.

How to customize

I kept this recipe super simple. Green beans, olive oil, salt, pepper. However, there are so many ways to customize this! Here are a few ideas.

  • Add lemon zest or lemon juice for a bright lemony flavor
  • Toss with some harissa or calabrian chili paste before cooking for delicious spice
  • Season with your favorite spices and seasonings -- garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, etc.

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees F.
  • While air fryer preheats, trim and wash green beans. Add to a large bowl, then drizzle with olive oil. Add a sprinkling of salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
  • Add to air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes at 380 degrees F, shaking halfway through cooking.
  • Remove from air fryer basket and serve as desired.
