Air fryer corn ribs are a fun side dish made from ears of corn. The corn ribs get roasted in the air fryer and are a delicious way to eat fresh corn!

I love fresh corn. The juicy kernels. The fun of eating it. The BUTTER.

And while I've eaten corn on the cob since I was a small kid (haven't we all), it's only recently that I've tried air fried corn ribs. And I'm in love.

They are easier to eat than typical corn on the cob, easier, to hold, and just fun. They curl up a bit when cooking, which adds to a fun appearance.

And you can still slater on your favorite butter and seasonings, or dip them in a sauce.

And of course, I love cooking everything I can in my air fryer, so I decided to cook corn ribs in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • Ear of corb
  • Oil
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Salt

What are corn ribs?

Corn ribs are formed when you cut a ear of corn into quarters. The corn ribs get roasted and usually curl up slightly, similar to beef or pork ribs.

How to customize

I added garlic powder and smoked paprika to mine, but the possibilities are endless! You can leave off seasonings altogether to enjoy a classic corn rib, or use chili powder, dried herbs, or even curry powder for a unique taste.

What to serve with the corn ribs

Air fryer corn ribs are so delicious slathered with a compound butter. Here's a few ideas.

  • Sweet - Brown sugar butter
  • Spicy - Calabrian chili butter or harissa butter

I also love serving these corn ribs with some air fryer bbq salmon, air fryer panko salmon, air fryer bbq chicken thighs, or air fryer bone-in chicken thighs.

They are also delicious with some air fryer apples or air fryer peach cobbler.

Recipe tips

  • Cook times may vary based on your particular air fryer and how roasted you want your corn ribs. Adjust cook times as needed.
  • Try to get spices and seasonings evenly distributed on corn before cooking.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled.
  • Make sure to place a dish towel under your corn when slicing into ribs to prevent the corn from slipping.

How to make air fryer corn ribs

First, you want to have a flat surface to cut the corn on. Cut off the very bottom and top of the corn to form a flat surface on both ends.

Next, you'll want to cut the corn into ribs. You have two options here. You can either cut the corn in half to make shorter ribs (making 8 smaller corn ribs), or you can keep it long, making 4 corn ribs.

Below, I cut it in half to make a total of 8 shorter corn ribs.

I cut the corn in half, and then I cut each of the halves into 4 pieces. Note that you can put a towel right under your ear of corn so that it does not slip while you are cutting it.

Air fry the corn ribs for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees F, tossing halfway through cooking.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 ear corn shucked
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Shuck the corn if needed and remove corn silk. Cut off the very top and bottom of the corn ear to form a flat surface on each.
  • Cut the corn rib in half (see below for alternate instructions), so that you have two similar sized corn halves. Then, stand the half of the corn on it's side and cut into quarters so that you have 4 corn ribs. Repeat with the other corn half.
  • Add corn ribs to a large bowl and add the oil and seasonings. Toss to coat.
  • Place corn ribs in air fryer basket and air fry at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, tossing halfway through cooking.
  • Remove, and serve as desired.
