You'll never want store-bought ice cream again after making Ninja Creami cookies and cream ice cream at home. It's so easy and only requires a few ingredients. It tastes like the store-bought versions, but even better somehow. And you can customize it if you like!
If you're a fan of cookies and cream ice cream, then this Ninja Creami recipe is for you. I've loved cookies and cream since I was a kid. It's always been one of my favorite flavors. Vanilla with pieces of Oreos? Yum.
And I've made it 3 or 4 times in my Ninja Creami already. It's so easy and delicious. My kids love it too. We're going to have to start making a double batch soon, because it doesn't last long in our house!
You can eat the Creami cookies and cream ice cream right after processing and adding the mix in, but you can also freeze it for later. I love it both ways.
Right after adding the mix in, it has a nice, creamy texture.
But after freezing for a bit, it reminds me more of the ice cream you would get from the store. Still delicious, and a classic taste and texture.
Ingredients
Vanilla base - These are the ingredients for the vanilla base I used, however you can use a different vanilla base if you prefer.
- Cream cheese
- Sugar
- Vanilla
- Heavy cream
- Milk
Mix-in
- Oreo cookies (or another brand of chocolate sandwich cookies)
How to make Creami Cookies and Cream
The first step to making cookies and cream ice cream in your Ninja Creami is to make your vanilla base.
To do this, I added my cream cheese to a microwave-safe bowl and microwaved it for 10 seconds. Then I added vanilla extract and sugar.
Mix together until completely combined.
Add heavy cream and milk and whisk everything together.
Add to your Ninja Creami pint and place in your freezer on a level surface for 24 hours. After 24 hours, process on the ice cream setting.
Take 5 Oreos (or sandwich cookies) and cut each into quarters. Scoop out a little funnel in the middle of your creami pint and add your cookies.
Use the MIX IN setting on your Creami. The pint should look similar to this when you're done!
Yum.
Scoop out and enjoy! You can also return your pint to the freezer to let it harden up a bit before enjoying.
Recipe tips
- Creating the funnel and section for your cookie pieces to go is key for the cookies getting mixed in properly.
- If your ice cream is crumbly or too hard after processing, use the re-spin setting BEFORE adding your cookie pieces.
- If ice cream is too soft, add back to the freezer before enjoying. You can also check the freezer temperature to make sure your freezer is the correct temperature.
Will this work in a Creami Deluxe?
Yes! You can make cookies and cream in the Creami Deluxe. You can either use the ingredient amounts as shown and make a 16 oz pint or 1.5x all the ingredients and make a 24 oz container.
When making the full 24 ounces, we suggest using 8 sandwich cookies.
How to store leftovers
Leftovers can be stored for a month in the freezer.
If your ice cream is too hard to scoop, let sit out for 10 minutes before scooping, or reprocess in your Ninja Creami. If you prefer a creamier texture, reprocess in your Ninja Creami. However, note that reprocessing will break up the cookies more.
