Air fryer crostini crisps up perfectly in the air fryer in less than 5 minutes. Top with cheeses, vegetables, or other treats to make a delicious and easy appetizer. The air fried crostini also makes a delicious bruschetta!
I kinda feel like crostini is the perfect appetizer or snack. A little piece of toasted crunchy bread topped with whatever you want? So delicious.
You can make crostini feel as rustic or fancy as you want, depending on the toppings. But the non-negotiable is the crunchy, crispy bread. The perfect vessel for holding the toppings.
And I have found that my absolute favorite way to make crostini is in the air fryer! It's a delicious way to toast a baguette in the air fryer.
Why make crostini in the air fryer
Quick - The crostini gets crispy so quickly in the air fryer in less than 5 minutes.
Delicious - I find that making crostini in the air fryer gets it more evenly crisp than broiling/baking in the oven. More crispiness means more deliciousness!
No preheating - Absolutely no preheating is needed when making this crostini in the air fryer. Saves on energy costs!
Ingredients
- Baguette - Making crostini works best with a crusty bread like a baguette. You can use a French baguette or a ciabatta baguette.
- Olive oil - The olive oil helps to crisp up the bread perfectly in the air fryer.
Crostini topping ideas
One of the best things about crostini is how easy it is to top with different foods! Here's a few ideas of how to enjoy your air fryer crostini.
- Salmon and goat cheese crostini - One of my favorite combinations is salmon and goat cheese topping crostini. So good!
- Use the toasted crostini to make air fryer bruschetta.
- Ricotta or goat cheese and honey - I love this lemony ricotta served with crostini
- Prosciutto and pear with blue cheese
- Cheese and salami
- Spread some roasted garlic onto the crostini
Recipe notes
- All air fryers cook differently. Check frequently for doneness!
- If you slice your bread thicker or thinner than ½ an inch, you may need to adjust cooking times.
- You may need less olive oil than I used, depending on your bread. Start with 2 Tablespoons and add more if needed. You want it to moisten all the bread so it crisps up properly, but not soaking the bread.
How to make air fryer crostini
Slice baguette into pieces about ½ inch thick.
Add baguette slices to a large bowl and add 4 Tablespoons olive oil. Toss to combine.
Place in air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry at 380 degrees F for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired level of crispness. (I did mine for 4.5 minutes for the perfect amount of crispness for me).
Plate and serve as desired!
I topped mine with some roasted garlic and smoked salmon. You can also use the air fryer toasted baguette to make some bruschetta!
