Air fryer pumpkin spice donuts are easy to make and so flaky! These donuts are made from a can of biscuits and topped with a delicious pumpkin glaze for that tasty pumpkin spice flavor.

I used to make (and eat) biscuit donuts all the time growing up. It was one of my favorite foods. And so easy to make!

But those biscuit donuts from my childhood were fried in oil, and I don't always love to cook with so much oil these days. Air fryer donuts are just as delicious with zero oil required!

These air fryer donuts are topped with a pumpkin spice glaze made with pumpkin pie spice and canned pumpkin for ultimate fall flavors. The result? A deliciously flaky donut that is sweetened with a delicious pumpkin glaze.

Ingredients:

  • Grands flaky biscuits
  • Powdered sugar
  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Canned pumpkin
  • Sprinkles (optional)

How to make air fryer pumpkin donuts

Preheat your air fryer at 360 degrees F for 5 minutes. Open up your can of biscuits.

Using your donut hole punch, punch a hole in the center of every biscuit to form a donut shape.

Add biscuits to your air fryer basket, leaving room for them to expand while cooking (I typically cook 4 at a time). Cook for 5 minutes at 360 degrees F.

Once donuts have cooked, place on a cooling rack.

While donuts are cooking, prepare your pumpkin glaze. To a small bowl, add the powdered sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice and mix together until combined.

Next, add your pumpkin puree and stir until combined. If needed, add a touch more milk to thin.

Pumpkin glaze should be thin enough to be in liquid form, but thick enough to properly coat a donut.

Dip each donut in the pumpkin glaze and top with sprinkles if desired! I love using orange and green sprinkles for fall.

Yum, so tasty. Flaky and flavorful.

Equipment needed

Air fryer - This is the air fryer I have and love.

Donut hole punch - A donut hole punch is needed for punching out donuts. If you don't have one, you can use something else like a syrup cap or other round, deep lid that is the size of a donut hole.

Air fryer parchment paper (optional) - I like using air fryer parchment paper to keep the donuts from sticking (and easy cleanup). Note --- do NOT put in parchment paper while preheating. It can blow into the heating element and cause a fire.

Cooling rack - I use a cooling rack for the donuts after they come out of the air fryer.

Recipe tips

  • If using parchment paper, do NOT add to the air fryer while preheating. You need something (like the biscuits) in the air fryer to weigh the parchment paper down and keep it from flying into the heating element.
  • If not using parchment paper, you may want to brush the air fryer basket with a bit of oil before adding the biscuits.
  • I cook the donuts first, and then cook the donut holes after the donuts are all cooked. The donut holes usually need less time, so watch carefully while cooking.
  • If glaze is too thick, add a tiny bit more milk and stir. If glaze is too thin, add more powdered sugar and stir to combine.
  • If you find that your glaze is too thin as you're dipping the donuts, you may want to do two layers of glaze.
